Raising Savages

The judge that deemed this rapist too much a snowflake to do more than 6 months for his savage crimes has been RECALLED.   Congrats Aaron Persky!!

Here is the thing about our "legal" system.  It tends to only work in favor of those that can afford to grease palms, or pull favors.  But, we the people STILL have some power.  We can recall judges that administer the law in a way WE consider to be UNJUST.  One of the "instructions" given to a jury at the end of a trial is that they are "the deciders" of the law, and if they fail it falls to the public to insure that justice is served.  In the case of Brock Turner and his horrible actions, Wonder Woman would be proud!

As I read through the  victim's statement at the sentencing, my eyes swelled with tears to the point of needing to stop many times to clear them so I could see.  Her heart wrenching words were enough, however, in the days that followed, the Rapist’s family decided they wanted to speak up for their child.  The words that came from their lips were vile, and devoid of any sense of human feeling.  I think that was what did it .. broke my heart.
That somewhere in this world are parents who not only do not see the savage they raised, but blame his savagery on others.

How do people of such privilege become so heartless, and indifferent to evil, not only in the world, but nurtured and created within their own home?  His parents are looking for someone to say that it is not their poor little snowflakes fault, that it was just a misunderstanding … ?  

FINE.  I will say it.  It is not his fault. It is his parent's, Carleen and Dan Turner's fault.

His excuses, as stupid and illogical as they were, did not nearly reach the level of their callow comments.  How did they manage to raise a child to believe that touching another person without their consent and against their will was no big deal?  Maybe the fact that they thought he was just getting a little action, just a "boy being a boy", just "letting off some steam" — but, it was “action” he was not only NOT ENTITLED to, and speaks volumes about their personal mental state.  Did they slap him on the back and say “good job son” when they heard of what he had done?  They seem the type that would.  They are the ones that created a person that believed that RAPING a woman was acceptable behavior.  

Dan and Carleen Turner raised a savage.  They not only owe the young woman an apology, but the world for creating this monster.  Based on their own obnoxious, and abhorrent words they are responsible for creating him.
